Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen staff by maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring that all equipment is in good working order. Duties
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the kitchen, including washing dishes, pots, and pans.
* Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by chefs, including chopping vegetables and preparing ingredients.
* Support cooking staff during service by ensuring that all necessary utensils and ingredients are readily available.
* Help with the storage of food items and ensure proper stock rotation to minimise waste.
* Keep kitchen equipment clean and well-maintained, reporting any issues to the head chef.
* Assist in maintaining a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations.
* Participate in cleaning duties at the end of shifts to ensure a tidy workspace for the next day.
Requirements
* Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
* A passion for food and hospitality, with an eagerness to learn about culinary practices.
* Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques is advantageous.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
