The Emotional Wellbeing Service (EWBS) provides a trauma informed and responsive service and psychological interventions for mild through to severe and enduring mental health concerns of children and young people aged 0-25 years, who are a Kirklees looked after child or care leaver.

The EWBS is formed through a partnership with Kirklees Council and the South West Yorkshire Foundation Trust (SWYFT). The service is co-managed by Kirklees Council and SWYFT and is staffed by Senior Practitioners (Social Workers) employed by the Council and Clinicians employed by SWYFT.

The objectives of the EWBS are to:

* provide formulation, consultation and psychologist led emotional wellbeing clinics to professionals
* provide trauma informed, evidence based, specialist therapeutic interventions to address the mental health and wellbeing needs of children and young people in care and care leavers and minimise the risk of further escalation of mental health issues
* provide specialist ongoing risk assessment, analysis and recommendation to inform the young person’s care plan
* provide assessments and formulations that are collaborative and informed by the child or young person and family or carer and incorporate information gathered from the people involved with the care of the young person e.g. social care, education, social clubs
* co-produce person-centred care plans with children, young people and family or carer
* provide a service which is multi-disciplinary and can supply a range of expertise
* engage in effective liaison between services and good partnership workin

As a Team Manager you will lead and manage the EWBS and two other essential children’s support teams. You will be responsible for directly line managing eight staff that includes four qualified Social Workers. As well as having regular supervision from your line manager, you will also have an annual appraisal, as well as a full induction plan when you commence in post.

You must hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England.

At interview, you will be expected to demonstrate your ability to lead and manage a team, including providing supervision and overseeing performance. You should have extensive experience as a Social Worker in a child and family social care setting and ideally have experience at a deputy or team manager level.
