Job Summary
Our client Oxfordshire County Council is looking for a Social Worker to join their Children’s Blackbird Leys Team 1 & 2.
Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload tailored to your experience, ensuring that children’s and families’ voices are heard and their needs are met.
* Work with families using the Family Solutions Plus (FSP) Workbook modules and a strengths‑based approach.
* Prepare and submit written reports as required, including child protection conference reports and legal reports for care proceedings.
* Undertake child and family assessments and investigate allegations of harm or neglect under Section 47 of the Children Act 1989.
* Maintain accurate case records using ICT, recording activity in line with key performance management data.
* Ensure provision of high‑quality services that integrate government and local guidance and initiatives, including the Children Acts 1989 & 2004, Working Together, local Child Protection and Looked After Children procedures, and the Department of Health Assessment Framework 2000.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Experience in social work with a child‑focused caseload.
* Strong skills in report writing, case documentation, and ICT usage.
* Understanding of statutory guidance and local procedures related to child protection and family assessment.
* Ability to work collaboratively with teams and keep the Assistant/Team Manager fully appraised of significant information.
