Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead The Standard Pub. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, proven experience building high‑performing teams, and a solid background in both bar operations and gastro‑style food‑led venues.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, recruit, train, and develop a strong front and back‑of‑house team.
* Oversee daily operations across bar and gastro‑style food service.
* Maintain high standards in service, food quality, and presentation.
* Drive sales, profitability, and overall venue performance.
* Manage rotas, labour costs, stock control, and supplier relationships.
* Lead cocktail development and train staff in advanced mixology.
* Ensure compliance with licensing, health & safety, and food hygiene regulations.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a General Manager in a busy pub or bar.
* Strong background in gastro‑style food operations within a venue setting.
* Advanced mixology and cocktail knowledge.
* Demonstrated success in building and leading teams.
* Strong financial awareness (P&L, KPIs, labour management).
* Hands‑on, energetic, and customer‑focused approach.
