The main purpose of the post is to provide support to individual and/or groups of students with a range of learning difficulties & disabilities or other support needs.

Key Responsibilities
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
* Provide in-class and individual support to students with learning difficulties, disabilities, or other additional needs.
* Help learners develop confidence, independence, and strong study skills.
* Work closely with course teams and learning support coordinators to tailor support that meets each student’s unique needs.
* Support learners with organisation, research skills, ICT use, and assignment preparation.
* Participate in trips, training, quality improvement activities, and contribute to the overall learner experience.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Welsh Language Requirements:
* Welsh Oracy (Listening/Speaking) - Level 2 Essential
* Welsh Literacy (Writing/Reading) - Level 2 Essential

Essential Criteria:
* Appropriate Qualifications to Level 3
* GCSE English and Mathematics at minimum Grade C or O Level Equivalent
* A positive, adaptable, and empathetic approach
* Strong communication and IT skills
* A genuine desire to make a difference in young people’s lives
* Ability to work harmoniously with colleagues
Desirable Criteria:
* Basic Skills Learning Support Assistants Level 2 Qualification (if you do not have the qualification you will be expected to complete the course within 2 years from appointment)
* First Aid at Work Qualified (If you do not have the qualification you will be expected to complete the course within 2 years from appointment)
* Relevant experience of working with people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities

Coleg Ceredigion was created in 1985 and became a corporate institution in 1993. The college merged with the University of Wales Trinity Saint David as a subsidiary company in 2014. The college has an annual turnover of £6m and employs around 180 staff.
The College is based in South West Wales and has seven main campuses at Llanelli (Graig), Carmarthen (Pibwrlwyd and Jobs Well), Ammanford, Llandeilo (Gelli Aur), Aberystwyth and Cardigan. The College is also home to Carmarthen School of Art which has its origins dating back to 1854.
