About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic Direct Payments Support Team as a Support Team Officer. This county-wide role plays a vital part in empowering individuals to take control of their personal budgets through Direct Payments.
As a central point of contact, you will work closely with social care teams—including Children’s and Adult Services—Direct Payments recipients, and external support services. You will provide expert guidance, support, and information in this specialised area, ensuring individuals are equipped to make informed choices while maintaining cost-effective solutions.
You will also act as a leader and ambassador for Direct Payments, promoting independence, choice, and control in line with current legislation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide advice and support to individuals receiving Direct Payments.
2. Liaise effectively with internal teams and external partners.
3. Promote awareness and understanding of Direct Payments across the county.
4. Conduct face-to-face visits with customers as required.
5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records.
6. Deliver training and guidance to individuals and professionals.
Key Requirements
7. Excellent telephone and communication skills.
8. Strong case recording and documentation abilities.
9. Confident in delivering training and guidance.
10. Ability to manage time effectively and work independently.
11. Willingness and ability to conduct in-person visits with customers.
12. A proactive and empathetic approach to customer service.
