The Pharmacy Department at SWYT is seeking a Senior Pharmacy Assistant to support our procurement and dispensing team at Fieldhead Hospital. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient procurement, supply, and distribution of medicines.
We are looking for a highly motivated, committed, and dedicated individual who is a strong team player with excellent time management, interpersonal, and organisational skills. Candidates must work well under pressure, have strong attention to detail, and be excellent communicators.
Our department's development focuses on medicines optimisation and sustainability. The postholder will support these priorities through procurement and dispensary service provision.

Main duties:
1. Support the lead pharmacy technician in dispensary and procurement activities following SOPs.
2. Dispense a wide range of prescriptions accurately and efficiently.
3. Support ordering, receiving, and invoicing of pharmacy stock.
4. Maintain stock in line with manufacturer guidance, including temperature monitoring, stock rotation, and expiry checks.
5. Provide stock top-up services to inpatient units.
6. Support staff training related to dispensary activities.
7. Assist the Lead Pharmacy Technician in managing dispensary workflow.
8. Provide information to service users about their medicines.
9. Handle reception duties, including answering the hatch and triaging calls.
