Veterinary Technical Advisor - Companion Animal (Midlands Maternity Cover)
Reporting to the Companion Animal Technical Lead, with a close working relationship with the Regional Sales and Technical Product Support Team, this hybrid role is responsible for providing specialist veterinary expertise on all aspects of the Company’s companion animal products both in the field and to customers contacting the Technical Product Support Team.
This role is based in the field but will require a significant amount of time to be spent off territory – including but not limited to attendance at sales meetings, Head Office, and other activities.
You will work closely with the Regional Sales Managers (RSM) and Technical Lead to develop and maintain the sales team's technical knowledge. Responsibilities include delivering technical training, engaging in account planning, providing support to the sales team, managing technical product support, cultivating relationships with key opinion leaders and customers, and representing the company at industry events. Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and promoting the company brand are also key aspects of this role.
Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with RSMs and Technical Lead to develop and maintain the sales team's technical knowledge.
2. Identify training needs and deliver comprehensive in-house technical training.
3. Support account planning and technical opportunities to add value and achieve sales targets.
4. Act as a point of contact for complex technical queries, providing relevant technical and marketing intelligence.
5. Ensure regulatory and pharmacovigilance compliance, supporting the sales team accordingly.
6. Respond promptly to technical queries or complaints related to companion animals.
7. Manage technical enquiries from the TPS Team and ensure resolution.
8. Accurately record all cases in the customer relationship management system.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
* UK-recognised veterinary degree and MRCVS membership.
* Significant experience in UK Companion Animal First Opinion Practice.
* Effective communication skills, capable of delivering technical training to varied audiences.
* Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English.
* Persuasive with the ability to influence others.
* Excellent time, project, and organizational management skills.
* Ability to manage relationships with external stakeholders.
* Discretion in handling confidential issues.
* Effective communication at various levels within and outside the company.
* Energetic, resourceful, and adaptable to change.
* Willingness to attend evening/weekend meetings and occasional overnight stays.
* Interest in horses is desirable.
* Candidate should be located in or near the Midlands with easy motorway access.
