An exciting opportunity has arisen within Site Services, Waste Operations and Logistics for a Technical Records Officer which plays a vital role in supporting safe and compliant operations across facilities and projects. This role is central to the effective implementation of the NRS Dounreay Management System, ensuring records, documentation, and processes meet demanding regulatory, statutory, and quality standards.
You do not need a technical background as the role is to manage the documentation so if you are highly organised, detail‑driven and motivated by working in a regulated technical environment, this position offers the chance to make a visible impact on operational compliance and performance.
What You Will Do
As the Technical Records Officer, you will be the focal point for facilities and project documentation, ensuring information is controlled, accurate and accessible throughout its lifecycle. You will manage document control and records strategies, carry out quality and compliance checks, and actively track actions and corrective measures to completion. Working closely with Management Systems, audit teams and operational colleagues, you will also maintain quality records, training matrices and appointments, supporting day‑to‑day compliance, operational readiness and project delivery.
* Act as document control for the area, providing challenge, assurance and escalation where needed
* Maintain lifetime quality records, matrices and training/appointment records for facilities and projects
* Track, monitor and support the close‑out of actions and corrective measures
* Liaise with Management Systems and support audit, procurement and compliance activities
* Undertake local auditing of systems to confirm effectiveness and advise on improvements, where deemed necessary
What I Will Bring
You will bring a structured, methodical approach and take pride in accuracy, organisation and delivering to deadlines. You’ll be confident working with technical data and systems, collaborating with stakeholders at all levels, and maintaining high standards even under pressure.
* HNC in Science, Engineering or Business (or equivalent experience), with knowledge of the Dounreay site
* Proven experience in document control, records management or quality focused roles
* Strong organisational, planning and IT skills, with confidence using databases and systems
* Detail focused, reliable team player with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
* Driving Licence would be advantageous
* Post specific capability analysis assessment
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys bringing order, assurance and clarity to complex technical environments while supporting work of national significance.
