The role To develop, lead and manage a team of specialist Officers who are key stakeholders in the communities they serve. Support the leaders and managers of the service in development and implementation of projects, strategies, initiatives, and incentives that enable and empower customers to live independently, sustain their tenancies and reduce and prevent homelessness. Provide a high-quality tenancy sustainment service that meets the needs and requirements of vulnerable tenants who are at high risk of tenancy failure. Provide leadership and direction to ensure the development and implementation of projects, strategies and initiatives are delivered across the Housing Service. Lead and encourage the Tenancy Sustainment Officers & Home Finance Officers to support the Neighbourhood and Tenancy team in appropriately managing any issues that tenants have in adhering to the terms of their tenancy agreement. Through the team facilitate and co-ordinate collaborative sustainment opportunities that enable tenants to remain in their home. Key Requirements Support the Neighbourhood and Tenancy Manager in ensuring that the Tenancy Sustainment Officers are delivering the requirements of their roles as set out in the Job Description and Person Specification and that monitoring, and management of individuals performance is clear, transparent, and consistent. To be responsible for the leadership and day-to-day line management of the Tenancy Sustainment Officers & Home Finance Officers. Support, guide, and supervise the decision making of officers in the discharge of their duties, ensuring decisions are delivered consistently and in line with legislation, guidance, and best practice. Coordinate the delivery of high-quality services that are compliant, customer focused with consideration of equality, diversity, understanding and respect for people and their personal circumstances. Ensure that all work is collaborative across the housing service and draws in and upon resources available across the Council, key agencies, partners, voluntary groups, and other key stakeholders. Skills & experience A min level 3 qualification related to housing management or social housing practices At least 3 years demonstrable experience specific to the role, or demonstrable experience, with transferable skills within the social housing sector At least 2 years relevant and recent experience in a senior or managerial role At least three years demonstrable experience of working in Housing Services, preferably with one year at Senior Officer or Team Leader level Additional Information The Councils offer a range of staff benefits: pension generous leave entitlements starting at 25 days plus bank holidays (pro-rata) flexible working, where appropriate Employee Assistance Programme access to employee benefits platform.
