Product Support Engineer- Rail
Location: Stoke Gifford (Depot Based) - Bristol
Employment type: Permanent, full time (Mon - Fri)
Role Overview: The Product Support Engineer will conduct routine maintenance and repairs on MTU rail products to the standard specified in the approved manuals and contract(s), embracing digitalisation.
Job Responsibilities
* Perform preventative, scheduled and corrective maintenance activities in accordance with the maintenance schedule, manuals and contract.
* Actively participate in continuous improvement activities for maintenance and procedures, providing new improvement suggestions.
* Conduct planned maintenance tasks per operating instructions.
* Attend and participate in meetings with the customer to obtain sign‑off for work performed on their equipment.
* Undertake fault finding and repair using appropriate technical information (e.g., technical drawings and fault finding guides).
* Document all work accurately for the company and the customer.
* Participate proactively in the Company’s HSQE management processes.
* Maintain cleanliness of the SGB onsite facilities.
* Attend local and factory training courses when necessary to keep skills current.
* Carry out other related activities as reasonably required, e.g., cover work in another depot.
* Report parts used during service work as per internal processes to ensure inventory control.
* Use IT systems such as Go!Care, C4S, eWeb, Go!Manage, Diasys, Outlook, etc.
Qualifications
* Engineering background.
* NVQ Level 2 in Engineering or equivalent.
* Outstanding safety awareness.
* Proficient in MS Office (XLS, Word) and email; on-the-job training for SAP, MTU Business Portal.
