About the role
The RAC is the UK's leading breakdown service provider—a people-powered business of 4,000 'orange heroes' delivering best-in-class motoring services for private and business drivers. Our growth creates a fantastic opportunity for a skilled, field-based Roadside Mechanic to join our Roadside Patrol team.
Responsibilities
As a Roadside Mechanic you will handle diverse breakdowns and technical issues, providing essential technical expertise and on-site support to members. You will be out with patrols, dealing face-to-face with members, handling breakdowns, offering technical support, and delivering the exceptional service RAC members expect.
Responsibilities include:
* Respond to roadside incidents and diagnose faults
* Perform repairs or safe, temporary fixes where possible
* Provide clear, respectful communication with members
* Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used
Qualifications
* A Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent)
* Demonstrative technical, electrical, and diagnostic experience
* A customer-focused approach
* A full UK driving licence
