Job Summary
We are seeking a Practice Administrator who will be responsible for a interesting and wide variety of administrative duties and the provision of administrative support to the multidisciplinary team.
Duties can include, but are not limited to, providing support with secretarial and administrative duties, the processing of information in a timely manner, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers and processing admin tasks within the surgery.
Furthermore duties will also include supporting the Care Navigators and Dispensary teams as required, to include undertaking a range of reception duties and provision of general support to the teams in a timely manner and in accordance with current policies.
Hours to suit the right candidate and training can be given.
Responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities of the Practice Administrator in delivering health services. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks. This will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels
* Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers' requests appropriately
* Assist with total triage administration
* Welcome patients and visitors to the organisation, directing requests appropriately
* Process incoming and outgoing mail
* Input data into the patients' healthcare records as necessary
* Process letters, reports as required
* Accurately input and code SNOMED data
* Support the medical Secretary team as required.
In addition you will be an integral part of the general practice team
Act as a chaperone as required
Be aware of duties and responsibilities regarding current legislation and adhere to practice policies and procedures on safeguarding adults and safeguarding children
Support in the delivery of enhanced services and other service requirements
Undertake all mandatory training and induction programmes
Contribute to and embrace the spectrum of clinical governance
Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
Attend a formal appraisal with their manager at least every 12 months. Once a performance/training objective has been set, progress will be reviewed on a regular basis so that new objectives can be agreed
Qualifications
A good standard of education, with an expectation of having both GCSE Maths and English at Grade C or above, or Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths and English
Excellent keyboard skills
Excellent communication skills and effective in communicating and understanding patient needs
Proficient in GP surgery software eg Emis and Docman preferred although training can be given
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £12.55-£13.70 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 37 per week
