CNC Miller – Mazak
Location: Otley, West Yorkshire
Type: Full-time, Permanent
We are a precision engineering business specialising in high-quality, low-to-medium volume components for demanding applications. Due to continued workload and future growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced CNC Miller to join our shop floor team.
The Role
You will be responsible for setting and operating CNC milling machines, primarily Mazak, producing complex components to tight tolerances. The role sits within a cell-based manufacturing environment that manufactures engineering components globally for sectors such as Aerospace, Defence, Engineering and Manufacturers.
Key Responsibilities

Set, operate, and adjust Mazak CNC machines

Read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD data
*
Produce components to specification, tolerance, and quality standards
*
Carry out basic program edits and offsets at the machine
*
Perform in-process inspection using hand-held measuring equipment
*
Identify and report quality or process issues early
*
Maintain good housekeeping and follow health & safety procedures
About You
*
Proven experience as a CNC Miller in a precision engineering environment
*
Ability to work a rotating shift roster (Early > Late shift)
*
Confident and competant at operating Mazak machines
*
Able to work from detailed engineering drawings
*
Strong understanding of tolerances and quality requirements
*
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
*
A proactive, reliable approach with pride in workmanship
Desirable (but not essential)
*
Experience with multi-axis machining
*
Other CNC machining experience (Turning etc)
*
Exposure to aerospace, motorsport, or high-tolerance industries
