Overview
We are recruiting two enthusiastic locum consultant plastic surgeons for a fixed‑term appointment at Morriston Hospital, working across the Swansea Bay University Health Board sites. The role supports a 28‑member team providing Burns and Plastic Surgical services to a South Wales population of 2.3 million and addresses waiting‑time targets.
Responsibilities
* Provide safe, effective clinical care for adult and paediatric burns, plastic and reconstructive surgery patients.
* Lead multidisciplinary skin cancer management and trauma care within the team.
* Participate actively in clinical governance, risk management, quality improvement and service audit.
* Maintain a valid GMC licence, complete revalidation, MARS appraisal and a Personal Development Plan.
* Collaborate with clinical leads and university partners to advance research and regenerative medicine initiatives.
Person Specification
* Essential – Registered with the GMC, experience in multidisciplinary skin cancer management, ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to competing demands.
* Desirable – Empathy and sensitivity, demonstrated improvement science and methodology, excellent interpersonal communication skills, evidence of audit initiation and completion, and evidence of effective working relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
