About the Position:
The Virginia State Police (VSP) is seeking to hire an Intelligence Analyst Senior in our Homeland Security Division at our Administrative Headquarters in North Chesterfield, Virginia. The job duties for this position include but are not limited to:
• Researching, analyzing, and distributing criminal intelligence to aid in the prevention and response to terrorism and criminal activities.
• Serving as the Watch Center for the Fusion Center, monitoring and electronically recording all incoming and outgoing communications through email, telephone, fax, in-person interactions, web-based platforms, and mobile applications.
• Maintaining and/or updating databases of information.

Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge:
• Of research and analysis techniques.
Skill:
• In the use of personal computers and using Microsoft Office applications.
Ability:
• To collect, analyze, summarize, interpret and communicate information and technical data orally and in writing.
• To apply critical thinking to diverse information sets and to produce logic-based analysis and recommendations on probable and potential trends and event outcomes.
• To maintain accurate and complete files.
• To manage multiple priorities.
• To follow oral and written instructions.
• To establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel and representatives of other agencies and organizations.
• To communicate effectively in English with staff and external partners to ensure goals and objectives are met.
• Experience in government, business, or criminal justice to include analytical experience and criminal analytical training.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to obtain a federal security clearance.
• Requires three-year commitment to the Virginia Fusion Center and ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
Additional Considerations
• General knowledge of analytical application programs and software to produce Geographic Information Systems (GIS) based maps, text, tables, graphs, and charts preferred.
• Public safety experience or other broad scope of governmental experience preferred.
