Social Worker - Assessment & Intervention Torbay Council | Children's Services About the Role Torbay Council is seeking a committed and passionate Social Worker to join our Assessment & Intervention Team within Children's Services. You'll work directly with children and families at times of change and challenge, completing high-quality assessments and delivering purposeful interventions to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes. What You'll Be Doing Completing statutory Child & Family Assessments and managing complex caseloads Working with children in need and those subject to child protection plans Undertaking Section 47 enquiries and contributing to child protection conferences Delivering direct work with children and families using strengths-based approaches Preparing clear, analytical reports for meetings, legal planning, and court Working collaboratively with partner agencies to safeguard children Recording high-quality case notes in line with statutory and local standards What We're Looking For Essential: Qualified Social Worker (BA / MA / DipSW or equivalent) Registered with Social Work England Experience in statutory children's social work Strong assessment, decision-making, and communication skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced frontline environment Desirable: Experience in an Assessment & Intervention or Duty & Assessment team Court and Public Law Outline (PLO) experience Knowledge of strengths-based or Signs of Safety practice If you are interested in this Assessment and Intervention Social Worker role please contact
