Data Protection Coordinator
Location: 12 Month FTC Keynsham, Bristol (with 2 days per month in the office)
Purpose of the Role:
To provide administrative support to the Data Protection Compliance team, ensuring effective management of data protection queries and incidents within the business. The role involves responding to compliance inquiries, managing data protection rights requests, and maintaining accurate records related to data privacy.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
* Monitor and triage data protection queries received via the Group Data Privacy Inbox and other communication streams, providing basic responses as needed.
* Respond to data protection incidents, ensuring accurate records are created and maintained.
* Handle Data Subject Rights (DSR) requests and inquiries for UK brands and businesses, collaborating with various departments for timely and appropriate responses.
* Conduct searches for relevant data and apply statutory exemptions and redactions to data protection rights requests.
* Provide compliance tracking, manage response timelines, and assist in the preparation of reports as required.
Experience/Qualifications:
Essential:
* Understanding and experience with data protection (GDPR) and compliance processes.
* High level of written accuracy and clear communication skills.
* Good interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage with business stakeholders.
* Ability to perform basic risk assessments and root cause analysis, providing guidance and response recommendations.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, e-discovery tools, and maintaining spreadsheets and logs.
Desirable:
* Experience in fulfilling GDPR Data Rights requests (e.g., DSAR, Deletion).
* Data Protection Practitioner certificate or equivalent, with expertise in GDPR/UK Data Protection Act compliance.
* Experience using OneTrust or other privacy management software.
* Knowledge of Canadian data protection regulations.
* Proficiency in European languages: Spanish, French, German, or Portuguese.
