About the RE Department:
The Religious Education department is a collaborative team dedicated to fostering understanding of different religions and worldviews. We offer a curriculum that explores various religious and philosophical traditions, promoting dialogue and critical thinking. We encourage students to develop their perspectives on faith and belief and to engage in respectful discussions on ethical issues.
About the Role:
* Teach Religious Education across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential for teaching A Level RE depending on experience and interest.
* Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons catering to diverse learning styles and abilities.
* Utilize various teaching methods and resources, including discussions, debates, guest speakers, and visits to places of worship.
* Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback.
* Contribute to curriculum development and resource creation to keep the RE curriculum relevant and challenging.
* Foster appreciation of different religions and worldviews, encouraging students to develop their own beliefs and values in a respectful manner.
* Collaborate with colleagues to create a supportive learning environment.
* Participate in professional development to enhance teaching practices and stay updated on RE education developments.
Ideal Candidate:
* Holds QTS or equivalent.
* Has excellent subject knowledge in Religious Education.
* Demonstrates passion for teaching RE and commitment to student success.
* Possesses strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
* Builds rapport with students and fosters an inclusive learning environment.
* Understands the National Curriculum for RE.
* Committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
