We are working with a well-established, multi-site organisation to recruit a Payroll Manager to take ownership of the UK payroll function during a key phase of system implementation and stabilisation of their new HR and Payroll System.
This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a visible role where you will oversee the full payroll cycle, manage a small team, and play a key part in embedding a recently implemented payroll system.
Your Core Responsibilities:
* End-to-End Payroll Ownership: Managing the full payroll process for up to 5k UK employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
* Team Leadership: Leading and developing a small payroll team, providing guidance and oversight across all payroll activity.
* System Implementation / Stabilisation: Supporting the ongoing rollout and optimisation of a new Payroll system, ensuring smooth transition into BAU.
* Process Improvement: Reviewing existing payroll procedures and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and controls.
* Stakeholder Management: Working closely with HR, Finance, and senior leadership to resolve payroll queries and support business changes.
* Compliance & Governance: Ensuring payroll is delivered in line with HMRC requirements, legislation tax and internal audit standards.
What We’re Looking For:
* Proven experience in a Payroll Manager role.
* Strong knowledge of end-to-end UK payroll in a medium to large organisation.
* Experience managing or mentoring payroll staff.
* Comfortable working in a changing environment, particularly around system implementation.
* Confident communicator who can work with stakeholders at all levels.
