In this pivotal role, you will support the delivery of our motor vehicle courses by ensuring that all workshop facilities, tools, and equipment are available, well-maintained and safe to use. You will work closely with teaching staff and learners, helping to create a productive and secure learning environment for the next generation of automotive professionals

Salary Details: BS14-18 (currently £24,358 - £25,435 per annum)
Hours of Work: Full Time - 37 hours per week
Contract Type: Salaried - Permanent
Holiday Entitlement: 28 days Annual Leave plus 8 Bank Holidays & College closure days per annum
Qualifications/Experience:
1. You hold a minimum Level 2 in Motor Vehicle Engineering or equivalent. However, it is highly desirable to hold a relevant Level 3 qualification.
2. You are required to hold a First Aid certificate. If not currently held, the College will support you to undertake and achieve this within an agreed timescale.
3. You will have experience of working within a practical environment, ideally working with technical equipment.
Key Responsibilities
4. Prepare and maintain workshop facilities, tools, and equipment for teaching sessions, ensuring everything is in safe working order.
5. Support teaching teams in the delivery of practical lessons, including setting up demonstrations and assisting during sessions as required.
6. Carry out routine maintenance, repairs, and safety checks on all motor vehicle training equipment.
7. Manage inventory of tools, consumables, and parts, ordering replacements as necessary.
8. Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the workshop environment.
9. Provide technical advice and support to staff and students, including guidance on the correct use of equipment.
10. Assist with the organisation and delivery of assessments, open days, and other college events.
11. Maintain accurate records of equipment checks, repairs, and risk assessments.
