Opening doors so others can open minds – Join us as Estates Assistant. EKC Sheppey College is looking for a proactive, reliable Estates Assistant to help keep facilities safe, welcoming, and running smoothly.
Responsibilities
* Act as a responsible key holder, unlocking or locking buildings as required and taking part in the on‑call rota to keep the campus secure and operational.
* Set up and dismantle the intruder alarm system and conduct regular fire alarm and emergency light checks throughout the building.
* Perform timely inspections of core infrastructure and equipment.
* Support a wide range of caretaking and general estates duties, including minor repairs, maintenance, delivery and portering tasks, and assist staff on site.
* Collaborate with external contractors throughout the year to ensure the building and its equipment are maintained in line with all legislation.
* Provide a friendly, flexible approach to tasks and shift patterns, keeping work organised and running smoothly.
Qualifications & Personal Attributes
* Good organisational skills with the ability to keep things running smoothly.
* Experience in monitoring, testing and accurate record‑keeping of fire alarm and emergency lighting systems.
* Working knowledge of Legionella within a working environment.
* A genuine interest in sharing knowledge and supporting the next generation.
* Enthusiasm and a positive attitude; experience is helpful, but passion really counts.

* Must live within 20 minutes of the campus.
