Remote FSE position for our sales and service subsidiary, Milton Keynes, United Kingdom
Job objective:
The Field Service Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing SMA’s commercial and utility inverters and ensuring minimum downtime for end customers. Duties include commissioning, troubleshooting, replacing, and repairing inverters and other SMA technology. Also includes technical reporting and direct customer support.
Key responsibilities:
* Service, repair, maintain, and inspect a variety of equipment and systems installed throughout the UK.
* Deliver excellent field service for commercial and utility solar projects.
* Commission, inspect, and repair PV systems installed by leading EPCs.
* Troubleshoot and repair string and central inverters as well as other SMA technology.
* Collaborate with customers, leading companies in solar, in a dynamic environment.
* Communicate with service managers to ensure high service quality.
* Handle customer calls, queries, and error messages at our subsidiary.
* Manage service logistics and spare parts for inverter components, organize logistics.
* Record issues in SAP CRM documentation.
* Maintain the highest safety standards on-site and in the workplace.
Qualifications & Requirements:
* Requires 18th Edition certification, Bachelor’s degree.
* At least three years of professional customer service experience and 5+ years in installation, repair, or maintenance of electrical plants or power electronics.
* Good knowledge of high voltage, measurement equipment, and safety regulations.
* Proficient in MS Office, SAP, and understanding of IP network technology.
* Class B driver’s license.
* Willing to travel nationwide and support overseas if needed.
* Excellent English skills, strong communication, and independent work skills.
* Attention to detail, highly organized, able to prioritize, and solve problems effectively.
Reporting line:
Reports to the Large Scale Service Team Leader
Job type:
Full-time, Permanent
Compensation:
* Base salary: £37,000 - £47,000 depending on experience
* £3,000 annual bonus based on KPIs
* £35 per night away from home when working
* Overtime paid door-to-door
