Location: NG19, Mansfield
Contract Type: Flexible (day-to-day / short-term / long-term options)
Start Date: January 2026

Overview
Education Personnel are working with a primary school in the NG19 area to recruit a Flexible Teaching Assistant. This Teaching Assistant role is suited to someone looking for adaptable work, with opportunities ranging from day-to-day cover to longer placements, depending on school needs and your availability.
The school operates on a large site with wide corridors, a dedicated intervention room, and an outdoor area that is used daily for structured activities and learning outside the classroom. Teaching assistants and other support staff move between classes and groups throughout the day and play an active role in lessons rather than working separately. Clear routines are in place across the school, which helps supply and flexible staff settle in quickly and work confidently alongside permanent colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide classroom support across different year groups as required
* Work with individual pupils or small groups to support learning tasks
* Assist teachers with lesson activities, resources, and transitions
* Support behaviour, focus, and engagement using consistent school approaches
* Supervise pupils during breaktimes, lunchtimes, and movement around school
* Adapt quickly to different classes, routines, and expectations
* Feedback to teaching staff at the end of each day or placement
The Ideal Candidate
* Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
* Has experience working in UK primary schools
* Comfortable covering different classes and age groups at short notice
* Confident supporting learning and behaviour in a classroom setting
* Reliable, adaptable, and organised
* Communicates clearly with staff and pupils
