Overview
Join to apply for the Christian Chaplain - 15 hours per week role at University of Chester.
Do you have the skills and experience to be an excellent University Chaplain? There is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to join our multi-faith Chaplaincy team, who work closely together through our common values, whilst recognising and respecting the distinctiveness of each person’s religion, beliefs and worldview.
This is a demanding and highly rewarding role for someone who is self-motivated, highly collaborative, creative, pastoral and deeply committed to community-building across all faiths and none. It would suit a person who will thrive in our busy University department that works across university sites to offer pastoral and spiritual support to our large and diverse community of students and staff. In Chester, Chaplaincy run a Community Hub that is a drop-in space for students, with different creative activities, lots of opportunities to eat together and a beautiful wellbeing garden designed and maintained by students. We are looking for someone with the creative skills to add to this work, bringing ideas that would enhance student engagement and wellbeing in a variety of ways.
In addition to working alongside our team of Chaplains, Associate Chaplains and volunteers, you will also be building collaborative working relationships with other University staff from academic departments and professional services. As a Christian Chaplain you will support the Christian community in the University through our regular rhythm of prayer and worship, and in helping to lead key services in our University Chapel.
This role requires you to be an active member of a Christian community (ordained or lay), in good standing within your denomination that may be Anglican, Catholic or a Free Church denomination that is affiliated to the Free Churches Group (see link in Job Description).
