An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Finance Assistant / Accountant to join a small, collaborative team in Sherborne. This role offers hands-on involvement in a variety of accounting responsibilities, from day-to-day bookkeeping through to management accounts and audit preparation. This is a diverse role that requires both technical skill and a proactive, organised approach. Maintain accurate financial records and ensure efficient processing of all finance functions Carry out bookkeeping tasks, ensuring income and expenses are properly recorded and VAT is correctly treated Manage payment runs and carry out weekly bank reconciliations as required Prepare and submit VAT returns Maintain ledgers, control accounts, and fixed asset registers Prepare management accounts and year-end statutory files for review and audit Produce financial reports such as actual vs. budget summaries and profit forecasts Support with ad hoc project workWe’re looking for someone with relevant accounting experience, ideally gained in a practice environment, who enjoys variety and takes pride in high-quality, accurate work.
