The role of a Floating Support Worker
Working with Engage Leeds, you will collaborate as part of a dedicated team to deliver outstanding service and personalized support, empowering customers to achieve their goals and aspirations.
The role involves working in the community and visiting customers in their homes, many of whom face challenges and are at risk of homelessness.
Engage Leeds is a consortium of organizations commissioned by Leeds Council to provide support to adults in Leeds facing challenges and homelessness risks. Our mission is to empower customers through community-based services across three geographical areas. Riverside operates in South Leeds and offers a city-wide volunteer service.
We support diverse customer groups, including those in council housing, housing associations, private landlords, and homeowners, providing services that address mental health, dementia, substance use, and complex needs.
About you
We seek someone who:
* Understands the barriers faced by vulnerable and diverse groups, including those with complex needs.
* Has knowledge of the UK Benefit System and Universal Credit.
* Is a team player with a caring, empathetic, flexible, and resilient attitude.

Role Responsibilities
Support Customers
* Use psychologically informed and Trauma Informed Care approaches to support independence.
* Develop personalized support plans involving stakeholders.
* Lead reviews and engage customers to meet outcomes.
* Assist with day-to-day support and tenancy matters.
* Support employment, education, and training opportunities.
* Help customers in temporary accommodation become tenancy-ready.
* Signpost external support services.
* Support financial independence and healthcare needs.
* Follow safeguarding procedures and record customer information accurately.
Service Delivery
* Facilitate referrals and assess new customers.
* Coordinate with local authorities and housing providers.
* Conduct housing support assessments and provide tenancy support.
* Advocate for customers and develop local partnerships.
Other Responsibilities
* Work flexible hours and travel within the area.
* Use Lone Worker systems and ensure customer safety.
* Participate in team activities and training.
* Undertake additional duties as needed.
