Orion Group is working with a leading infrastructure and construction client to source a Civils Design Manager to join their UK Construction team in the North of Scotland.
As the Civils Design Manager, your core responsibilities will include:
1. Supporting site-based Civils project teams and early civils-related stages of building projects.
2. Supporting implementation and managing the control of the design process to ensure the design and procurement of specialist packages are delivered to meet project requirements in line with cost parameters.
3. Supporting Work Winning/Project Delivery teams by providing design input and cost-effective solutions.
What you'll be doing
1. Manage the development and implementation of design proposals ensuring they meet customer requirements, including budget constraints, and presenting proposals for approval to the customer. The design should deliver safety in construction and use, quality within affordable parameters, ease of maintenance, energy efficiency with minimal environmental impact, and innovation to meet customer goals and positively impact the local community.
2. Manage and ensure effective briefing of the Design Team, including managing any third parties or novated design teams to ensure they meet all customer specifications, and check the competence and resources of any incumbent design teams or third parties.
