Applicants are invited to apply for the post of Senior LED in Obstetrics & Gynaecology (Digital Research ST5+). We are seeking doctors wishing to take out of programme experience from specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at ST4-5+.
Job Summary
This research post will focus on data analysis and digital architecture working closely with Professor Jenny Myers and Dr. Vicki Palin at the University of Manchester. Candidates will be expected to register for an MPhil with the University of Manchester and be out of programme for a minimum of two years. Candidates who wish to extend the out of programme experience may convert to an MD. The research component of the position will occupy 60% of the post and be based at St. Mary's Hospital ORC; the clinical component will occupy 40% with sessions and on call based at NMG.
Responsibilities
* Work on the Tier 3 on-call rota, acting as a Clinical Fellow equivalent to an ST5+ trainee.
* Supervised by a consultant; collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, respecting roles and communicating appropriately.
* Enable full realisation of the Trust’s EPR Hive (EPIC); work with SMH CIO Prof. Jenny Myers to become a qualified “EPIC builder.”
* Develop and deliver education programmes across the ORC and NMG campuses with undergraduate and postgraduate consultant leads.
* Contribute to digital architecture and data analysis for research projects.
* Participate in the Green Plan and sustainability initiatives.
Qualifications
* ST4-5+ in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
* Out of programme experience for at least two years.
* Commitment to register for an MPhil with the University of Manchester.
* Experience or interest in digital records systems (EPIC preferred).
