Passive Fire Engineer
Location: Nationwide / Field-Based (Reporting to Chorley)
Salary: £40,000 - £42,000

What You’ll Be Doing
* Conduct thorough site surveys of passive fire protection assets, including fire doors, fire stopping, cavity barriers, facades, ductwork, fire dampers, and fire-resistant coatings.
* Take a proactive approach to identifying non-compliances, meticulously documenting and photographing defects using BORIS software.
* Verify that passive fire installations match certified details, official fire test reports, and manufacturer requirements.
* Execute the practical installation and remediation of firestopping systems, cavity barriers, structural boarding, and the application of intumescent coatings.
* Work on your own initiative while on-site to spot further non-compliances or potential required works, acting as a trusted advisor to estate and site managers.
What We’re Looking For
* Dedicated experience in passive fire protection surveying and installation within diverse building environments.
* Sound working knowledge of building regulations, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, BS 9999:2017, HTM 05-02, and HTM 05-03.
* Strong understanding of current firestopping products, manufacturer-approved installation methods, and technical blueprint interpretation.
* Practical experience using BORIS digital management systems or equivalent field-reporting software.
Qualifications & Certifications
* NVQ Level 2 in Passive Fire Protection (Required)
* Valid CSCS Card (Required)
* Full UK Driving License (Required)
* FIRAS training / accreditation (Highly Preferred)
* IPAF certification (Advantageous)
