Job Opportunity: Graduate Civil Engineer
We are working on behalf of a leading civil design consultancy that is seeking an ambitious and skilled graduate civil engineer. This position is designed to help you develop your skills and knowledge in civil engineering while contributing to a variety of projects.
Your New Role
Guided by a team of highly experienced engineering experts, you will work in a supportive environment with guidance from directors and a dedicated team of engineers and technicians. Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop infrastructure projects for commercial, retail, residential, and industrial sectors, including SUDS drainage systems and roads to adoptable standards.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure project goals are met on time and to high standards.
* Liaise with statutory bodies such as Southern Water, Local Authorities, and the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency.
* Carry out technical analysis using design software and AutoCAD.
* Participate in design, project, and site meetings, and conduct site inspections.
* Develop and maintain good relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
* Prepare, issue, and manage technical project documentation, including calculations, drawings, and models, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
* Manage project tasks within budget and time constraints.
Candidate Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should demonstrate a willingness to develop and possess the following skills:
* Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Ability to work effectively in a team
* Willingness to learn and enhance technical knowledge through work-based learning and self-study
