Senior Mechanical Engineer \nLocation: London (Hybrid – 3 days in office, 2 days remote) \nSalary: £50,000 – £60,000 per annum \nType: Full-time, Permanent \nSector: Building Services and Environmental Design \n\nA respected building services and environmental design consultancy based in central London is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team. \n\nThis is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer to lead mechanical design on a range of high-quality, sustainability-focused projects. The role involves delivering detailed design packages, coordinating with external consultants, and guiding junior engineers through each stage of the project lifecycle. \n\nThe consultancy has built a strong reputation for technically excellent, environmentally responsible design, with a collaborative, people-focused approach. Projects span residential, commercial and cultural sectors in both the UK and internationally. \n\nKey responsibilities include: \n\nLeading mechanical design across multiple projects \n\nCarrying out thermal calculations, energy modelling, plant sizing and carbon assessments \n\nProducing detailed design reports, drawings, specifications and schedules \n\nCoordinating with external design teams and internal MEP disciplines \n\nAttending design team meetings and conducting site inspections \n\nMentoring and delegating to junior engineers \n\nEnsuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations \n\nEssential requirements: \n\nMinimum 4 years' experience in mechanical building services design \n\nDegree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or similar \n\nProficient in thermal modelling (e.g.
