A long‑established manufacturer of bespoke industrial lifting equipment is looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their close‑knit engineering team, with clear progression into senior roles.
What you'll be doing
Managing the full product lifecycle for bespoke industrial lifting solutions.
Leading projects, producing 2D/3D CAD designs, and completing stress calculations and testing.
Working across Rail, Construction, Aerospace, Offshore and other industrial sectors.
Meeting customers to understand technical requirements and develop tailored solutions.
Collaborating with quality, engineering and technical sales teams
What you can offer
Strong Mechanical Design Engineering experience in heavy engineering or safety‑critical machinery.
Confident managing projects from concept through to production.
High proficiency in stress calculations and mechanical stress testing.
Strong CAD skills and the ability to handle multiple projects at once.
Commercial awareness and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
Desirable: experience in regulated industries, knowledge of hydraulics/control circuits/electrical systems, and familiarity with BS EN standards.
Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering (or similar).
