Equans UK is looking to recruit for a Sales Director to drive growth within the O&M side of our Digital & Energy Services business and strengthen our position as a leader in the Smart City market. As a part of the Service SLT the Sales Director will be responsible for winning new customers and driving development of selected key accounts. Creating winning strategies and market leading products. The role is critical in driving growth within wider the DES business and will lead the winning and oversee successful delivery of customer relationships. It will ensure relationships are managed and developed to deliver extra value for the customer and for Equans.


Role Overview

A Sales Director will ensure that customer projects are effectively managed, they will identify new opportunities and lead the sale, implementation and management of new projects and initiatives where required. This role is responsible for managing the needs of the customer whilst identifying and delivering opportunities for cross and up-sell within selected clients. They will have a close eye on the commercials of each customer, understanding how to increase the viability of customer relationships. Will oversee, develop and deliver Account Development plans, in accordance with the strategy set out by the business. The plan will ensure the achievement of agreed revenue and margin targets in line with the pricing strategy and achieve happy customers from the initial project to become repeat and loyal customers.


Key activities

* Lead the Sales & Marketing team, winning new customers and growing key account relationships
* Management of the Account Management function
* Ensure an active business development plan is in place for relevant markets and customers
* Ensure Account Development plans are in place for key customers
* Financial targets – ensure that individual revenue and margin targets are achieved
* Reporting of performance – ensure progress and results are reported through weekly and monthly reporting
* Continual improvement – ensure learning is applied to drive best practice in the team
* Account management – ensure contracts and measures are agreed, understood across the O&M business and delivered, in line with KPIs and SLAs.
* Operational management – work with the Operations team to ensure customers’ operational requirements are understood, achievable and built into any agreement in an appropriate and deliverable manner
* Build effective relationships within each customer. Ensure that the appropriate account links are made across the organisation with active customer account maps
* Trusted advisor and innovation – act as the “expert” for customers, keeping them informed of relevant industry updates and providing new solutions and ideas to support their needs
* Customer engagement – ensure that new customers are engaged, and their satisfaction is measured and improved through gathering feedback and involving in customer satisfaction and NPS surveys


Skills, Qualifications & Experience

* Degree or equivalent in business or related discipline preferred
* Experience working in a customer service focused technology industry
* Experience of managing resources and teams within a technology-led environment
* Account & sales team leadership
* Customer focus and management
* Business and commercial focus – including contract negotiation and management
* Strong communication skills
* Influence and negotiation
* Strong project management skills
* Strong stakeholder management
* Resource and commercial management
