On behalf of our client, a leading organisation in the aviation industry, we are currently recruiting for an Estimator to support their quoting and pricing activities. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic environment with a strong focus on safety, compliance, and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparing detailed cost estimates for aircraft maintenance, repairs, inspections, modifications, and overhauls.
* Coordinating with engineers, technicians, and procurement teams to gather necessary technical data and input for accurate cost projections.
* Reviewing technical work scopes, maintenance requests, and aircraft service bulletins (SBs), airworthiness directives (ADs), and OEM manuals to ensure the full scope of work is captured in estimates.
* Ensuring compliance with aviation regulatory standards (FAA, EASA) and internal quality control processes.
* Negotiating favourable terms and pricing with third-party vendors to ensure cost efficiency.
* Monitoring project costs during the maintenance and repair process to ensure alignment with the original estimate.
* Investigating any deviations from the original quote and provide recommendations for cost adjustments if necessary.
* Working closely with the project management team to ensure smooth handover of project details once the estimate is approved.
* Reporting on estimate accuracy and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
* Preparing detailed reports for management summarising estimation processes, project profitability, and variance analysis.
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
* 3-5 years of experience in aviation maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) estimation or similar roles within the aerospace industry.
* Strong technical understanding of aircraft systems, maintenance procedures, and regulatory requirements.
* Experience working with OEMs, suppliers, and subcontractors in the aviation industry is preferred.
* Authority to live and work in the UK.
Desirable:
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
* Attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with clients, internal teams, and vendors.
* Proficiency in using estimating software and tools, such as Quantum, Corridor, or similar MRO platforms.
