Role Description
We are offering an excellent opportunity for a Trainee Panel Wirer to join our team. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on electrical work, problem-solving, and want to build a long-term career in the growing BMS sector.
You will work closely with experienced panel wiring engineers to learn every stage of assembling BMS control panels - from layout and component installation to wiring, testing, and quality checks. Through structured on-the-job training, you’ll develop the technical skills needed to progress into a fully qualified Panel Wirer or move into other specialist areas such as commissioning, panel design, or field service.
Key Responsibilities
Hands-On Panel Assembly
– Support senior panel wirers with assembling BMS control panels
– Learn to install components such as terminal blocks, relays, fuses, and controllers
– Assist with cable preparation, routing, and termination
Wiring & Technical Development
– Learn to read and interpret basic wiring diagrams and schematics
– Practice wiring tasks under supervision, following industry standards
Quality & Testing Support
– Help inspect, label, and test panels before they leave the workshop
– Follow company quality procedures to ensure consistent high standards
Workshop Support
– Maintain a clean and organised working environment
– Use hand tools and power tools safely and correctly, under guidance
Training & Mentoring
– Participate in structured training sessions
– Receive continuous guidance from experienced engineers
– Build the confidence and skills needed to progress into a fully skilled Panel Wirer
Qualifications and Skills
Essential (we will train you):
– A strong interest in electrical or mechanical engineering
– Enjoys hands-on technical work
– Good problem-solving ability and attention to detail
– Willingness to learn, take direction, and develop new skills
– Positive attitude and ability to work well within a team
Desirable (but not required):
– A relevant qualification (A-Levels, BTEC, NVQ, or similar in Engineering)
– Some experience using hand tools or working on practical projects (school projects, personal DIY, hobby electronics, etc.)
