Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Romford, London Borough of Havering
Salary: £85 - £100 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Term-time only
Start Date: ASAP / January 2026

A welcoming and inclusive primary/secondary school in Romford is seeking a dedicated and patient SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team.
💼 Role Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and speech and language needs.
Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and external specialists to support individual learning plans.
Assist in the preparation of learning materials and classroom activities.
Support pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development.
Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents/carers.
✅ The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar setting.
A calm, caring and adaptable approach.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
An enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing to obtain one).
🎓 Desirable (but not essential):
Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
Training in Makaton, PECS, Team Teach, or similar
Experience with EHCPs and SEN support plans
