A brilliant specialist school in Gateshead is looking for a 1:1 Autism Support Assistant to work closely with a pupil who needs consistency, patience, and someone who truly understands how to support communication and sensory needs.
What the role looks like
1. Supporting a pupil with autism on a 1:1 basis throughout the school day
2. Helping them understand routines, transitions, and expectations
3. Using visual aids, sensory strategies, and clear communication
4. Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and therapists
5. Creating a predictable, reassuring environment where the pupil can thrive
