*Overview*We are seeking a skilled and dedicated MOT Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and be adept in using both power and hand tools. As an MOT Tester, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of vehicles by conducting thorough inspections and tests. This position requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer service.*Duties** Conduct comprehensive MOT tests on various vehicle types, ensuring compliance with legal standards.* Perform detailed inspections of vehicle components, including brakes, lights, steering, and exhaust systems.* Utilise both power tools and hand tools effectively to carry out repairs and adjustments as necessary.* Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and test results in accordance with regulatory requirements.* Communicate findings clearly to customers, providing recommendations for necessary repairs or maintenance.* Adhere to health and safety regulations while working in the workshop environment.* Assist with heavy lifting tasks when required during vehicle handling and movement.*Requirements** Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in vehicle maintenance or repair.* Proficiency in using both power tools and hand tools relevant to automotive testing.* Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed during inspections and repairs.* Strong attention to detail with the ability to work methodically under pressure.* Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members.* A valid MOT Tester certificate is preferred but not essential; training may be provided for the right candidate.Join us in ensuring that vehicles on the road are safe, reliable, and compliant with all regulations.
