🌍 VAT Compliance Specialist – International Focus
Are you an experienced VAT professional ready to take ownership of multi-country compliance? We’re looking for a hands-on VAT Compliance Specialist to support a growing team managing a new group of registrations across Europe and beyond.
🔍 What You’ll Do:
* Prepare VAT returns for multiple international markets (not just UK), ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
* Manage VAT general ledger reconciliations, support VAT payments, and maintain internal approval workflows.
* Handle monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, or annual VAT and indirect tax returns (e.g., Intrastat, SAF-T, listings).
* Act as a key point of contact for VAT compliance queries from internal and external stakeholders.
* Support VAT audits, liaise with tax authorities, and contribute to automation and process improvement initiatives.
🧠 What You Bring:
* 2+ years of hands-on experience preparing VAT returns across more than one country.
* Strong Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
* Experience with SAP (preferred) and indirect tax return software such as Onesource Thomson Reuters.
* Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, international environment.
* Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
🎯 Bonus Points:
* Experience in a shared services or multinational environment.
* Exposure to Oracle (legacy systems) or life sciences (not essential).
* Accounting qualification is a plus, but not required.
