Dakota Hotel based in Newcastle are seeking a hard-working and skilled individual with an aptitude for general DIY tasks for the role of Mai n tenan ce Assistant. CONTRACT AND PAY RATE Earnings are £13.50 per hour, paid weekly equating to a minimum guaranteed gross annual salary of £26,325. The role carries a permanent contract of a minimum of 37.5 hours per week. The shifts will predominately be working between Sunday to Thursday each week, with Fridays and Saturdays off. PRIMARY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES Carry out a broad range of mai n tenan ce tasks in accordance with your skillset and participate in mai n tenan ce activities such as installing, mai n taining, decorating, paitning, light plumbing, tiling, light joinery, PAT testing, grouting and silicone work. Action schedules to ensure the fabric of the building is both aesthetically well- mai n tained, as well as wholly compliant with all areas of legislation, completing necessary checks and records. Ensure that all tasks, requests, and project work is carried out to high finishing standards and in a timely matter, meeting agreed timescales on project work. Ensure that the planned mai n tenan ce schedules and project schedules are kept up to date. Work closely with the Mai n tenan ce and Housekeeping Manager to mai n tain company standards within guest bedrooms and public areas. Carrying out planned preventative mai n tenan ce as well as reactive mai n tenan ce of the building and its grounds. APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS The successful applicant will have/be: Have at least two years’ experience in a mai n tenan ce-based role with a good aptitude to carrying out varied mai n tenan ce-based tasks. Experience may also be across trades such as tiler, plasterer, plumber etc. Preferably, the candidate will have experience with painting and decorating. Experience in an accommodation-based commercial environment such as in newbuild housing, hotels, or rented accommodation is strongly favoured. Keen attention to detail and high standards of finishing. Ability to work at pace with little to no supervision. Sound understanding of health and safety protocols. Proficient in carrying out general mai n tenan ce tasks with a broad understanding. Able to be proactive and work at pace. An enthusiastic individual who will promote our culture of positivity.
