Extra Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Caretaker for one of our clients based in Birmingham. As a Maintenance Caretaker you will be responsible for the estate’s maintenance, carrying out regular site safety checks and able to work on their own initiative. Maintenance Caretaker Responsibilities: Carry out and record regular safety checks, including fire alarms, emergency lighting, playground equipment, and legionella prevention. Complete a variety of maintenance tasks as directed by the Head Teacher, such as basic carpentry, plumbing, and painting. Plan and manage a rolling decoration schedule, to be completed during school holidays. Oversee contractors working on-site, ensuring their work is safe, high-quality, and completed properly. Maintain the school grounds, including grass cutting and hedge trimming when needed. Keep all pathways and entrances clear of leaves, moss, snow, and ice to ensure safe pedestrian access at all times.
