Main Purpose of Position
The Senior Fit-Out Project Manager (SFOPM) will deliver high profile projects, ensuring works are completed safely, successfully, to programme and meeting the expectations of our clients whilst maximising the benefits both in financial and reputational terms to the company. This will be in full compliance with the pre-determined standards of safety, quality, environmental and security and the conditions of contract.
The SFOPM will be fully responsible for full managing the complete project lifecycle to meet project and business objectives to time, cost and quality and whilst being safe and ensuring security.
The SFOPM will drive decision making and proactively manage issues and risks/opportunities, providing timely and effective reporting to ensuring that there are no surprises for key stakeholders.
*Candidates must have strong Principle/Main Contactor (Tier 1) experience.
Key Responsibilities
* This is a Construction role with a focus on Fit-Out works.
* Have a good understanding of construction contracts, e.g. JCT.
* The SFOPM will lead the project delivery teams to successfully complete the scope of works for the Client.
* Will be involved in Tender Preparation and Bid Management.
* Using acquired skills and knowledge to Manage all aspects of project delivery.
* Working with the commercial and site teams to maintain accurate site records, produce progress/status reports both for internal and client use.
* Arrange and co-ordinate site surveys and preparing construction documentation for the Commercial team for the tender phase of projects.
* Request and review quotes/tenders from suppliers and sub-contractors.
* Have commercial awareness and ability to manage projects using construction management software.
* Assist with material selection, procurement and supply chain management.
* Plan and allocate correct labour resources for self-delivery elements of projects and liaise with the operatives directly to communicate.
* Actively monitor the SPACE project sites to ensure safe management and delivery is CDM compliant.
* Provide governance to ensure all key aspects of project delivery including health and safety, quality, compliance, sustainability and security are maintained to the highest possible standards.
* Assist with producing programmes of work, monitor & report progress against the programme.
* Assist with producing Health & Safety (SSOW), Quality, Compliance and Handover documents.
* Produce regular management status and performance reports.
* Ensure management and operatives hold the appropriate prerequisite training and security clearance to suit the project requirements.
* Have good stakeholder management skills to work with Clients, Suppliers, Subcontractors and the SPACE team.
Qualifications (Essential)
* NVQ L6 In Construction Management or similar
* CSCS Black Card
* SMSTS
Qualifications (Desired)
* Membership (or working towards) of Professional Body e.g. CIOB, RICS
* First Aid
* Fire Marshall
* Asbestos Awareness
* IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH Equivalent
* NEC 4 Certification from ICE
Skills
* Leadership in Construction Fit-Out works
* Strong financial and commercial skills
* Awareness of typical Conditions of Contract
* Ability to communicate with a wide range of colleagues at all levels and with external stakeholders and contractors.
* Competent in the use of Microsoft Office.

Experience (Essential)
* Experience (5 to 10 years) of leading and delivering significant multi £m fit-out projects in a Principle/Main Contractor environment (Tier 1)
* Experience leading, motivating and managing technically based multi-disciplinary teams, including internal and external resources, to drive integration, teamwork and problem solving while holding teams accountable for performance
* Demonstrable experience of successful delivery of complex projects to time and budget
* Effective programme management to deliver projects on time and adapt scheduled works to prevent delays and enable continuous working without standdown
* Experience of establishing strong positive relationships with the supply chain, including procurement and contract management
* Able to lead through engaging, motivating, coaching and empowering others.
* Establish collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders by bringing people together to benefit project delivery and future cohesive working partnerships.
* The ability to solve problems by building consensus and set direction in uncertain situations and apply knowledge and techniques to reduce ambiguity.
* Conflict resolution – able to recognise, anticipate and effectively deal with existing or potential conflicts or disconnects at individual, team or strategic levels.
* Strong communication skills, oral and written, to effectively communicate with a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external to the organisation at all levels of seniority.
Experience (Desired)
* Nuclear Construction industry Experience.
* Experience of working with complex regulatory and assurance processes
* Being part of company development and growth.
* Experienced/Exposure managing of NEC Contracts
Other requirements
Due to the nature of our work, individuals need to be British Citizen who have been resident in the UK for the past 10 years to meet our security clearance requirements. A candidates therefor needs to hold the following:
* Must be British Passport Holder
* Full UK Driving License
* Be prepared to obtain Security Clearance (SC/DV) by going through the UKSV (Vetting Service) process
