Yard Engineer
Location: Southampton (Eastleigh)
Salary: £26,750 – £32,680

We’re looking for a Yard Engineer to join a busy power equipment depot, supporting the preparation, testing and repair of generator sets. This is a mainly yard-based role with occasional customer site visits.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and service generators for the hire fleet
* Repair generators on-site as required
* Assist with loading/unloading equipment in the yard
* Drive forklifts in the yard (training provided if required)
* Deliver and collect generators and ancillary equipment using company vehicles
* Participate in the on-call rota as needed
* Synchronise generators on site when required
* Maintain safe, tidy workspaces and comply with Health & Safety standards
* Follow ISO 9001 procedures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Skills & Experience:
* Qualification in Mechanical/Electrical xsngvjr Engineering, Diesel Fitting, or Plant (City & Guilds, BTEC, NVQ, or equivalent)
* OR completed apprenticeship in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
* OR proven experience servicing diesel generators or maintaining plant machinery
* Strong fault-finding and communication skills
* Forklift licence preferred
