Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Pharmacist to lead, shape and influence Pharmacy Technical Services within NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership (NWSSP).
Transforming Access to Medicines is an NHS Wales programme to set up a shared Pharmacy Technical Service for Wales. The post is the senior professional in the service and will report to the Managing Director of Shared Services, with a professional relationship to the Welsh Government Chief Pharmacist.
The post holder will act as the senior accountable professional for medicines preparation activities, play a key role in supporting the mobilisation of the service, and take responsibility for leading the transition from mobilisation into operational service.
Responsibilities
* Lead Pharmacy Technical Services and shape services within NWSSP.
* Report to the Managing Director of Shared Services and maintain a professional relationship with the Welsh Government Chief Pharmacist.
* Act as the senior accountable professional for medicines preparation activities.
* Support mobilisation of the service, major investment in facilities and equipment, and service people assembly.
* Lead the transition from mobilisation into operational service.
* Engage with clinical, financial, workforce and executive stakeholders and manage multi‑site operations.
Qualifications
* Experienced Pharmacist with wide experience of Pharmacy Technical Services in a secondary care setting.
* Experience delivering transformational change and leading large and diverse teams.
* Knowledgeable about the detail of production activity and adept at working with diverse stakeholders.
* Strong leadership skills, resilience, and ability to build trusting relationships with peers and stakeholders.
* Passionate, people‑centred, embodying the values of NWSSP and NHS Wales.
Selection Process
* Two‑stage process: a presentation with a stakeholder panel followed by a formal panel interview.
* Stakeholder date: TBC.
* Interview date: TBC.
* Processes may be conducted virtually depending on circumstances.
