This is a hands-on role suited to someone with good maintenance skills who enjoys working as part of a team and supporting the day-to-day running of a school. Site Assistant - Role Overview As a Site Assistant, you will support the Site Manager in ensuring the school premises are safe, secure, and well maintained. Responsibilities include: Assisting with the opening and closing of the school site. Carrying out basic maintenance, repairs, and DIY tasks. Setting up rooms for lessons, meetings, and school events. Ensuring health & safety standards are met across the site. Conducting routine checks of buildings, grounds, and equipment. Supporting cleaning teams and ensuring high standards of cleanliness. Monitoring site security and responding to issues as they arise. Assisting with deliveries, stock movement, and waste management. Requirements Previous experience in caretaking, maintenance, or site work (school-based experience desirable but not essential). Good practical DIY and maintenance skills. Awareness of health & safety procedures. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently. Good communication and teamwork skills. An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
