Location Remote / Hybrid (flexible) About the Role We are seeking a Marketing Assistant with lived experience of brain injury to support and shape authentic, inclusive marketing and communications. This role is designed for someone who not only understands brain injury personally, but who also has an established online following or community and can use that platform to amplify awareness, advocacy, and engagement. Your lived experience is not just valued, it is essential. You will help ensure our messaging resonates genuinely with people affected by brain injury while supporting broader marketing activities. Key Responsibilities Lead the creation and delivery of marketing content informed by lived experience of brain injury, shaping messaging, tone, and campaign direction Take the lead in designing and producing content using Canva, including social media graphics, videos, stories, and campaign assets Create, co-create, and guide content (social media, blogs, videos, and campaigns) that reflects authentic, respectful brain injury perspectives Actively share and amplify approved content through your existing social media platforms or community channels to extend reach and engagement Lead day-to-day social media activity, including content planning, scheduling, posting, and community engagement Drive storytelling initiatives, including lived experience narratives, case studies, and brain injury awareness campaigns Provide leadership-level feedback on accessibility, language, tone, and inclusivity across all marketing and communications materials Work alongside leadership on marketing initiatives, contributing lived experience insights to planning and delivery Collaborate with the wider marketing team on campaign development, launches, and events Monitor and lead engagement tracking, using social media and platform analytics to identify trends, evaluate performance, and inform future content and campaign improvements Essential Requirements Lived experience of brain injury An established following or community (e.g. social media, blog, podcast, advocacy platform) Confidence communicating online and engaging with an audience Interest in marketing, communications, advocacy, or awareness work Ability to work at a flexible pace with appropriate supports if needed Experience creating content (posts, videos, reels, blogs, stories, etc.) Familiarity with social media platforms (e.g. Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, LinkedIn) Basic understanding of marketing or communications (formal or informal) Desirable Skills & Experience Strong storytelling skills Advocacy, peer support, or community-building experience
