At Sedgwick International UK, the role of a European Real Estate Adjuster is both dynamic and technically demanding, offering a unique opportunity to oversee large loss property damage claims across the continent. This position places you at the heart of complex claim management, where your expertise will guide the resolution of high-value Real Estate losses. You’ll be responsible for maintaining technical oversight while ensuring that brokers and insurers receive timely, detailed updates and reports, fostering strong relationships across the European insurance market. Working remotely within a close-knit team of adjusters in the Business Development unit, this role is ideal for experienced loss adjusters or claims handlers with a background in property damage—whether from an insurer, broker, or adjusting firm. While experience in Major & Complex Loss is preferred due to the technical nature of the work, Sedgwick offers comprehensive training for those looking to step up into this level of claim management. Collaboration is key in this role. You’ll regularly liaise with Sedgwick’s local adjuster partners throughout Europe, coordinating efforts to deliver high-quality reports, policy liability recommendations, and drive claims to swift resolution. Your input will be vital in monthly and quarterly review meetings with broker and insurer partners, where you’ll share technical insights and progress updates on open large loss cases. Additionally, you’ll have the chance to lead on significant claims involving master policy referrals, engaging directly with UK-based and international insurers. You will have/will be: Technical claims expertise in handling and settling first-party property damage claims, including material damage. Stakeholder relationship management with a proven ability to build and maintain strong connections with brokers and insurers. Strong organisational skills to independently prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines effectively. Advanced problem-solving abilities for resolving complex technical issues in property damage claims. Microsoft Office proficiency, particularly in Word and Excel, for reporting and management information tasks. Large loss experience in managing high-value property damage claims, either as a loss adjuster or claims handler. Professional qualifications such as Cert CILA or Cert CII (or higher), preferred but not essential. Claims relationship experience involving direct engagement with insurer and broker partners. Technical meeting leadership with exposure to senior-level discussions on complex claims. Report writing skills for producing detailed loss adjuster reports on property damage. Survey and engineering report review experience in the context of property damage claims. Major & complex loss process knowledge, from first notification of loss through to settlement. International claims exposure, particularly in European Real Estate property damage scenarios.
