We are seeking a Restore Nature Project Manager to lead our ambition for heathland, woodland and wetland restoration across the west midlands. Sandscapes is a nature recovery project which aims to restore and reconnect areas of sandy habitats across the three counties of Shropshire, Staffordshire and Worcestershire. Heathland and woody habitats were once a widespread and common component of the landscape in the Midlands, but it is now isolated and fragmented, so we are working collaboratively to create an improved connected landscape for wildlife and people by halting and reversing nature loss. We aim to do this by delivering nature-based solutions on our own land and working in close partnership with others to provide wider benefits. What it's like to work here You'll work within our internal NT Restore Nature Specialist Delivery Team, working with a variety of regional colleagues and property teams to achieve the project goals. You will be based at Dudmaston but with hybrid working, your time will be a combination of working from our NT properties being out and about on site and working from home. You'll have a dynamic working week and will need to travel throughout the area for meetings. Partnership is at the heart of our work and there is a need to uphold good working relationships with a range of landowners, partners, and statutory agencies and other teams. What you'll be doing The Sandscapes project has been delivering for 3 years, and this is an opportunity to further progress a range of Heathland and woodland creation and restoration projects, ranging from supporting large-scale arable reversion projects at Dudmaston, and heathland restoration at Kinver Edge to developing partnership working and helping establish landowner opportunities. It’s a wide-ranging project that is looking to create new habitats through practical delivery to establishing longer term partnerships that will enable habitat connectivity across the landscape in the future. Working local groups and leading community meetings to help promote and consult with local people will be an important part of the role. Who we're looking for We will shortlist against the following criteria. • Broad experience of the environmental sector and habitat restoration projects/nature recovery programs, with multiple senior internal and external stakeholders. • Able to demonstrate experience of successfully delivering complex end to end project/programme management, including defining resources, leading procurement, securing project teams and matrix management across multiple projects/Programmes. • A Professional with technical knowledge and skills in project management demonstrated by a recognised project (AMP PMQ/Prince) or programme management (MSP) qualification or be prepared to study towards the Project Management qualification in 12 months. • You're a flexible thinker and problem-solver, skilled at negotiating and building productive networks, and confident in using your expertise to influence decisions with senior leaders. • Demonstrable ability to establish and maintain complex stakeholder relationships at a senior level to build consensus and deliver opportunities. • A skilled communicator, with experience of managing complex and challenging situations with competing interests and a diverse range of people.
