Job Overview: This role is to support the Learner Support Department during maternity leave, under the guidance of the AHT SENDCo/SEND Lead Practitioner. You will have shared responsibility with other Learner Support staff to lead the day-to-day operational success of a busy SEND provision. Your focus will be on supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs, delivering bespoke interventions, and working closely with external agencies and parents. Days and Hours: 30 hours per week 4 days per week (must include Thursday and Friday plus two other days) 8:15 am - 4:15 pm Brief Role Outline: Support and contribute to the development of Hillcrest's Learner Support Department. Assist in delivering tailored interventions for SEND students. Work under the direction of the AHT SENDCo/SEND Lead Practitioner. Share responsibility for the operational success of the Learner Support provision. Support students with social, emotional, and mental health needs, fostering positive behaviour and engagement. Key Responsibilities: Support students with SEND, particularly those with social, emotional, and mental health needs. Plan, prepare, and deliver bespoke intervention sessions. Work collaboratively with external agencies, parents, and the wider school team. Maintain accurate records using IT programmes such as Microsoft Office, CPOMs, etc. Assist in managing the day-to-day running of the SEND department and lead/managing TAs where appropriate. Support inclusion and promote a positive learning environment. Requirements: Knowledge and experience working with SEND students with social, emotional, and/or mental health needs. Recent experience working with secondary-aged students. Experience working with local authority agencies, parents, and delivering interventions. Proven ability to plan and deliver bespoke interventions. Exemplary attendance record. Desired Qualities and Qualifications: HLTA qualification or Level 3 TA qualification. Recent experience in a secondary school setting as a HLTA. Experience in record keeping and using IT programmes such as Microsoft Office, CPOMs, etc. Up-to-date Safeguarding training. Experience leading or managing Teaching Assistants.
